PIXTA Establishes the Local Subsidiary in Singapore
to Accelerate the Development in Asian Market,
Carving out Southeast Asian Market by US$700,000 Capital Increase

Tokyo - November 1, 2013 - PIXTA Inc., a leading operator of Japanese online marketplace of stock photos, illustrations, vectors and videos, today announced US$700,000 capital increase on October 31, 2013, and the establishment of its local subsidiary in Singapore in the beginning of November. PIXTA is the first Japanese company which provides stock photo service overseas and aims “No.1 Asian Creative Platform.”


<The purpose of the establishment of local subsidiary>
Our purpose of this expansion is to introduce two things to the Southeast Asian market: high-quality & low-priced stock images and a new working style as “stock photographer (illustrator/videographer).”

PIXTA is the Japanese leading marketplace of high quality stock photos, illustrations, vectors and videos. Launched in 2006 as an online “Creative Platform”, PIXTA now makes the Japanese largest stock photo site with more than 5.8 million images, 120,000 of contributors and 130,000 of customers.

PIXTA owes its growth to the huge Japanese advertising market and the spread of DSLR cameras and the Internet.

The recent situation in Southeast Asian countries looks very similar to that of Japan. The conditions like the growth of advertising markets, the expansion of the Internet and the increase of DSLR camera users seem great for the microstock photo business to grow.
For now, microstock photos are not popular in these countries. We are going to reach the potential users by helping them find the high qualty images at affordable prices or gain income with their abillities and senses.

PIXTA with the mission “Make the world flat through Internet” takes this situation as a chance to expand our business, and establishes the local subsidiary in Singapore to accelerate the development in Southeaset Asia.
By focusing on marketing based in Singapore, PIXTA aims for the realization of “Flat World”, which any creators not only in Japan but in Southeast Asia can gain income by taking advantage of their skills.

PIXTA raises US$700,000 to accelerate full-scale expansion in Asia, following the launch of English web site in July.
With the capital increase, PIXTA aims for the service expansion in Southeast Asia by focusing on marketing in Sigapore.

With the capital increase and the establishment of local subsidiary in Singapore, PIXTA focuses on marketing, and increase high quality images that meet the needs of Asian market.
As our goal, we are going to make 100 million stock contents available and have the sales of overseas to US$1 million by December, 2014.
